Activities & Events

We have a variety of regular events, such as board meetings the 2nd Thursday of the every month at 7pm and bird walks every first Saturday of the month, as well as other events that occur on a more seasonal basis, like stream cleanups and fly tying classes. View a calendar of these events below.

Fall Clean Up 2025: We will be doing our fall clean up along Big Spring on Saturday, October 4, 2025. We will meet at the headwaters parking lot at the intersection of Big Spring and Log Cabin Roads at 9:00 am. For more details or questions, contact Linda Watson at fishmorekane@gmail.com

Fly Tying Classes for Winter 2025: Please note we are cancelling the class on January 23 due to frigid temperatures and icy conditions. We will start on January 30th.The Big Spring Watershed Association is offering our fly tying classes again this winter. Classes would be held in person at 6:30 pm beginning Thursday, January 23, 30, February 6, February 20, February 27, and March 6. We will meet at the First United Presbyterian Church in Newville. Park in the main parking lot by the church and the community room is off the main entrance to the church. Fly Tyers of all skill levels are welcome. BSWA will provide materials.
